My grandmother is the reason that I started sewing while in college. She originally taught me how to use a sewing machine and despite many hours of lessons, my first few quilts were not very durable. Thankfully, my skills have improved tremendously after lots of practice.
During a recent visit, she gave me a partially finished quilt that was pieced at least 30 years ago to finish. It is a multi-colored scrap hexigon design and I just cannot wait to finish it! I love the idea of putting a modern touch on something vintage!
